Forn Al Sheikh displays a distinctive, weathered wooden balcony that hangs over the narrow street, a feature known as a roshan. This bakery served as the primary source of bread for the pilgrims arriving at the port of Jeddah for centuries. When the ships docked, the local residents relied on this specific oven to feed the arriving crowds. It remains one of the oldest operational wood-fired ovens in the historic district, keeping the original method of baking flatbread over hot coals alive today.
