Constitución Plaza

The heavy wooden balconies circling Constitucion Plaza are numbered in yellow paint, each one marking a seat for the bullfights that once filled this square. Built in eighteen seventeen, the plaza served as the city’s bullring for over a century. When the spectacle moved to a larger arena in nineteen oh four, the city kept the original layout, and residents still live behind those numbered doors today. The square functions as a living room for the old town, open and surrounded by arcades.
