Saint Vincent's Church

The Church of Saint Vincent stands out for its dark, rugged stone facade, which marks it as the oldest religious building in San Sebastián. It dates back to the early sixteenth century, built in the Gothic style with a sturdy exterior designed to weather the coastal salt air. During the siege of eighteen thirteen, fire razed nearly every other building in the city, but these thick walls held firm. Inside, a sixteenth-century altarpiece by Ambrosio de Bengoechea remains its most prized possession.
