Roscoe Head

The Roscoe Head is a small, multi-roomed pub with etched glass partitions and walls covered in framed cricket memorabilia. It survived the mid-twentieth century trend of knocking down internal pub walls to create large open spaces. In nineteen seventy-nine, Carol Ross took over the lease, and she spent over forty years protecting those narrow corridors and separate snugs. When the brewery tried to sell the building for redevelopment in two thousand fifteen, regular drinkers campaigned until it became the first pub in Liverpool to receive heritage status.
