The Crown Hotel

The Crown Hotel dominates the corner of Lime Street with a bright, terracotta facade topped by an ornate, rounded gable. Built in eighteen fifty-seven, the building served as a grand destination for travelers arriving at the neighboring railway station. Its interior retains an extraordinary collection of etched glass screens and intricate mahogany carvings from the nineteenth century. These partitions once separated working men from the more affluent patrons of the hotel, keeping the social classes distinct even while they shared a pint.
