The Jacaranda occupies a narrow, three-story building on Slater Street with a distinctive, weathered brick facade. It opened in nineteen fifty-eight as a coffee bar, serving as a rare venue for local musicians to perform acoustic sets. Allan Williams, the owner, managed the young group that eventually became the Beatles. They practiced in the cellar and played their early shows on the small stage upstairs. Today, the space functions as a music venue and record shop, keeping the connection to those early nights intact.
