Miller-Joost House

The Miller Joost House at thirty two twenty four Market Street stands as the oldest surviving residence on the slopes of Twin Peaks. Constructed in eighteen sixty seven, this wooden farmhouse dates back to an era when this entire area was still rural farmland rather than a dense city neighborhood. It is a rare example of a freestanding vernacular home that has persisted through over a century and a half of massive urban expansion.
