For decades, this site functioned as the center for handmade rice noodles in Honolulu’s Chinatown. Laborers and families lined up at the window for fresh sheets of noodles, a staple for local stir-fries. When the owner, Look Chan, arrived from China, he brought the techniques for pressing and steaming rice flour that defined the shop’s reputation long after the city modernized around it.
