Seattle Center Armory Food & Event Hall

The Seattle Center Armory features a distinctive, massive arched roof made of heavy timber trusses that span the entire interior. Built in nineteen thirty-nine, the structure housed the Washington National Guard, who used the vast floor for drilling and storing military equipment. During the nineteen sixty-two World's Fair, organizers transformed the drill hall into the Food Circus, a sprawling space for concession stands and dining. The original military flooring remains tucked beneath the current surface, holding the echoes of soldiers and festival crowds alike.
