Bell Street Park occupies a street that once carried thousands of cars daily between the Denny Triangle and the waterfront. In twenty twelve, the city converted this stretch into a curbless, woonerf-style boulevard where pedestrians take priority over vehicles. Concrete pavers replace standard asphalt, and massive steel-tube light fixtures glow above. Before this transformation, the area served as a gritty industrial corridor, but now it acts as an elongated living room for the people living in the surrounding high-rise apartments.
