Sarang

other

The heavy wooden door at Sarang opens into a space built to house more than food. In the early two thousands, the chef combined a former hair salon and a storage room to create this narrow, dimly lit dining room. He spent months hand-carving the intricate screens that divide the tables, drawing patterns from his childhood memories in Korea. The walls are covered in exposed brick and mismatched frames, holding the history of a kitchen that started with one stove.
