Belgian Beer Cafe

The Belgian Beer Cafe in Perth occupies the former Palace Hotel building on the corner of Saint Georges Terrace and William Street. With its high-ceilinged interior, dark timber paneling, and massive brass beer taps, the space mimics a nineteenth-century European tavern. Gold mining magnate John Winthrop Hackett once owned the building, and for decades, it served as the social hub for Western Australia’s political and business elite before transitioning into its current role as a dedicated house for imported Belgian ales.
