The Allen Lambert Galleria at Brookfield Place is a soaring, six-story vault of steel and glass that connects Bay and Yonge Streets. Architect Santiago Calatrava designed the structure to resemble a cathedral of commerce, with white steel ribs branching out like trees to support a vaulted roof. Before this space existed, the site held a maze of old warehouses and loading docks. In nineteen ninety-two, the new design opened, framing the historic facade of the former Bank of Montreal building within its modern atrium.
