Queen’s Quay Terminal

The Queen's Quay Terminal wears an exterior of repetitive, cream-colored concrete squares stacked eight stories high, a stark silhouette against the blue of Lake Ontario. This building began as the Terminal Warehouse in nineteen twenty-seven, serving as a hub where ships offloaded goods directly into massive cold storage lockers. During its transition in the early nineteen eighties, architect Eberhard Zeidler kept the original concrete frame while gutting the interior to create the shopping, office, and theater complex that occupies the waterfront today.
