The Puente de Luz is a bright yellow steel bridge spanning the railway corridor near Spadina Avenue. Chilean sculptor Francisco Gazitua designed the structure to connect the growing CityPlace neighborhood with the rest of downtown Toronto. He chose the vibrant color to contrast with the gray industrial tracks beneath and the glass towers nearby. Construction crews lifted the main section into place in two pieces during the summer of two thousand eleven, creating a path that frames the skyline for everyone crossing it.
