Canoe Landing Park features a giant, oversized red canoe perched on a grassy hill, large enough for people to climb inside. Douglas Coupland designed this eight acre space on former railway lands to evoke the feeling of a childhood camping trip in the middle of a dense downtown skyline. The park sits on top of a massive underground parking garage, which required the soil to be carefully engineered to support the weight of the trees and the heavy sculpture.
