The Pasture is a public art installation made of two large, stylized aluminum sheep sculptures resting on the concrete of a downtown plaza. Commissioned in the late nineties, the figures were intended to bring a touch of the rural landscape into the dense urban grid of the financial district. Local office workers often use the backs of the sheep as benches during lunch hours. One of the figures was famously stolen in two thousand and seven, leaving the other standing alone for months.
