Monumento Torre del Reloj

The Torre del Reloj features a bright yellow facade with an arched gateway that connects the old walled city of Cartagena to the neighborhood of Getsemaní. Originally built in the seventeenth century as the main entrance to the fortified city, the tower was remodeled in eighteen eighty-eight. Leonardo Diaz Granados designed the current clock tower to replace a wooden structure. During the colonial era, the gate served as the Boca del Puente, the only bridge connecting the city to the mainland.
