Točilo Slavina (Špina)

other

The Točilo fountain features a carved stone basin fed by a constant stream of water pouring from a bronze pipe. It sits tucked against the ancient masonry of the city walls. In eighteen eighty-eight, the city council installed this tap to provide residents with a reliable supply of fresh water from the Jadro River. During the summer droughts, families crowded around this stone spout, waiting hours to fill their metal buckets. The water still flows here today, cold and clear as it was then.
