Kalamaja muuseum

museum

The Kalamaja Museum occupies a small, lime-yellow wooden house that sits at the corner of Kotzebue and Vana-Kalamaja streets. Unlike the polished monuments in the nearby Old Town, this building served as a home for everyday workers for over a century. During the nineteen nineties, it housed a kindergarten, but locals campaigned to turn the space into a community hub. Today, the walls hold personal artifacts donated by residents, documenting the lives of the fishermen, factory workers, and families of this district.
