Laudsepatöökoda

The Laudsepatöökoda, or Joiner's Workshop, sits within the medieval walls of Tallinn as a rare survivor of the city's guild era. It is recognizable by the heavy, thick stone walls and the deep, narrow windows that once shielded the craftsmen inside from the harsh Baltic wind. Throughout the sixteenth century, this building served as the headquarters for the master joiners who shaped the interior woodwork of Tallinn’s churches and merchant houses. The sawdust eventually settled, leaving behind this silent, sturdy shell.
