Cour Mably - Salle Capitulaire

The Cour Mably features a twelfth-century vaulted chapter house built for the Couvent des Jacobins. Its pointed arches and stone ribs survived the demolition of the surrounding convent complex during the nineteenth century. While the city transformed the area into a bustling administrative district, this limestone room remained largely intact. Travelers once entered through the monastic cloisters, but today the chamber serves as a quiet venue for exhibitions, still carrying the heavy, echoing silence of the monks who once gathered here.
