Église Notre-Dame de Bordeaux

The Église Notre-Dame features a towering, carved stone facade designed to look like a theater stage. It was finished in seventeen oh seven, replacing a medieval convent church that had fallen into ruin. Architecturally, it stands out for its elaborate Baroque detail, which was heavily influenced by Italian design. During the French Revolution, the building served as a storage space for grain and a concert hall, which saved it from total destruction while many other churches in the city were dismantled.
