Miroir d'eau

The Miroir d'eau spreads out as a shallow sheet of water, barely two centimeters deep, resting on a slab of black granite that perfectly reflects the eighteenth-century facade of the Place de la Bourse. Designed by landscape architect Michel Corajoud and engineer Jean-Maxime Llorca, the pool operates on a cycle. Water rises to cover the stone, vanishes to create a layer of mist, and then returns to a mirror state. It replaced a barren parking lot that once sat between the city and the river.
