Le Bar à Vin

The Conseil Interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux occupies this building, a grand nineteenth century structure facing the Place de la Comédie. Its ground floor houses Le Bar à Vin, where the windows open directly onto the stone pavement. Behind the polished bar, staff serve glasses from a rotating selection of local vineyards. Baron Haussmann once held office in the rooms above, before he moved to Paris to redraw the map of that city with his signature wide boulevards and uniform facades.
