The Espace d'accueil for the Tour aux figures is a small, quiet reception pavilion nestled at the edge of the Parc de l'Ile Saint-Germain. It serves as the gateway to Jean Dubuffet’s massive, winding sculpture that towers over the landscape nearby. Inside the pavilion, visitors find archival sketches and documentation detailing how the artist engineered the hollow, black-and-white concrete structure. Dubuffet spent years perfecting the intricate, maze-like interior that forces those inside the tower to follow a specific, winding path to the top.
