The monument Honneur aux poilus features a bronze soldier standing guard atop a stone pedestal. Sculptor Joseph Carlier crafted this figure to honor the infantrymen of the First World War, an effort commissioned by the municipality in nineteen twenty. It sits in the park as a permanent tribute to the soldiers from Issy-les-Moulineaux who died in the conflict. While many such monuments across France were melted down for metal during the second war, this statue remained in its original location throughout the decades.
