Jardin Botanique

The Jardin Botanique in Issy-les-Moulineaux sits behind a long wrought iron fence, marked by the dense, towering canopy of mature trees that stand in contrast to the surrounding glass and steel office buildings. This land once belonged to the Seminary of Saint-Sulpice, where priests tended to medicinal plants and vegetables. During the Franco-Prussian War in eighteen seventy, the seminary served as a field hospital, and soldiers were buried in the soil where the current greenhouse and flower beds now thrive.
