The building you are looking at is the last surviving historic station structure in the entire city of Issy-les-Moulineaux. First put into service in eighteen eighty-seven, it was a vital part of the rail line built to carry passengers to the Paris Exposition Universelle of eighteen eighty-nine. While the station was closed to traditional rail traffic in nineteen ninety-three to allow for its conversion into a modern tramway stop, the original passenger building was spared from demolition and later repurposed as a private residence. If you look closely at its exterior, you can still see the distinctive brick and stone masonry and a classic Mansard-style roof adorned with zinc ocular windows, all of which capture the signature architectural style of late nineteenth-century railway depots. It remains a rare, standing witness to the era when the expansion of the railways first integrated this area into the daily life of the capital.
