Hommage à Jean Moulin

The Hommage à Jean Moulin stands as a bronze bust mounted on a simple stone plinth near the banks of the Seine. Jean Moulin was the primary unifier of the French Resistance during the second world war, sent by Charles de Gaulle to coordinate scattered groups under one command. He died in a train near Metz in nineteen forty-three while being transported to Germany, following his brutal interrogation by the Gestapo. This sculpture marks his connection to this specific bend in the river.
