A heavy, concrete slab etched with the names of deportees anchors the Parc de la Résistance. This green space occupies the former site of the nineteenth century Fort d’Issy. During the Second World War, the site served as a prison where the German occupying forces held resistance fighters before their execution or deportation. Today, the park keeps that history present through the memorial stones and the quiet, deliberate layout of its paths, which trace the defensive lines of the old fort.
