Square Louis Bleriot

park garden

Square Louis Bleriot sits right along the banks of the Seine, defined by a long, wooden boardwalk and a row of young birch trees that stand against the river wind. It commemorates Louis Bleriot, the aviation pioneer who made the first flight across the English Channel in nineteen oh nine. Before this park existed, the entire riverbank served the industrial needs of the old aircraft factories that once dominated this part of Issy-les-Moulineaux, producing engines and wings for early planes like Bleriot's.
