Buste du Maréchal Juin

cultural

The bronze bust of Marshal Alphonse Juin rests on a stone pedestal, portraying the man who served as the last French Marshal of the twentieth century. Juin led the French Expeditionary Corps in Italy during the Second World War, famously pushing through the difficult mountainous terrain of the Garigliano sector. This sculpture honors his command during those campaigns. After the war, he became the inspector general of the French armed forces, remaining a central figure in the military establishment until his death in nineteen sixty-seven.
