The Square des Justes features a curved stone wall inscribed with the names of people who risked their lives to save Jewish citizens during the German occupation of France. This public space sits on the site of a former building where, in July nineteen forty-two, police gathered families before sending them to the Vélodrome d'Hiver. Local officials dedicated this garden to the Righteous Among the Nations, the individuals who hid children and families in basements and attics while the deportations unfolded.
