Square René Cassin occupies the space where a large public market once stood in the heart of Levallois-Perret. A grid of uniform, rectangular planters defines the area, each one topped with clipped trees that provide a dense canopy above the gravel paths. The square bears the name of the man who drafted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. He lived nearby, and the town council dedicated this park to his legacy after the market moved to a new indoor facility in the eighties.
