Coulée Verte

You are standing on the Coulée Verte du Sud Parisien, a fourteen-kilometer green corridor that functions as a rare uninterrupted path for pedestrians and cyclists stretching from the edge of Paris down to Massy. Unlike the famous elevated park in central Paris, this path was established in the wake of major infrastructure projects in the nineteen-eighties and nineties. Much of its current route was developed to coincide with the creation of the TGV Atlantique high-speed rail line. By utilizing the land surrounding and bridging these modern train tracks, planners reclaimed what could have been a fractured industrial zone and instead created a continuous, park-like transit artery for the suburbs.
