Parc et Allées Jean Jaurès

The Parc et Allées Jean Jaurès represents a significant shift in how this part of Montrouge functions. Until just a few years ago, this entire stretch was dominated by heavy car traffic and asphalt, serving primarily as a standard departmental road. In 2019, the city completed a major transformation to reclaim this space for residents by narrowing the roadway and prioritizing a wide, green pedestrian promenade. The project introduced a design that incorporates a series of interconnected gardens and public spaces, including the Parc Jean-Loup Metton. This specific park features a relocated historic bandstand, which previously stood in front of the town hall. The layout was intended to link the Hôtel de Ville to the Place Jean-Jaurès, creating a continuous green corridor that encourages walking and social interaction rather than vehicular transit.
