Le L - trompe l'œil

Le L is a striking work of architectural illusion located here in Neuilly-sur-Seine. Completed in 1982, the piece features a large L-shaped element that appears to protrude directly from the building façade. This design creates a sharp contrast between the physical structure of the residential building and the painted, forced-perspective geometry that plays with the viewer's depth perception. By carefully manipulating lines and shadows, the work creates an effect that makes the wall seem to physically warp or extend into the street.
