Neuilly-sur-Seine community cemetery

historic

The old cemetery here traces its origins to seventeen eighty-six. It owes its current location to a land deal made in eighteen oh-eight with Marshal Joachim Murat, a prominent military commander who happened to own the local Château de Villiers. This exchange allowed the community to expand the grounds throughout the nineteenth century, eventually filling the space with the intricate nineteenth and early twentieth-century sculptures, medallions, and busts that define its character today.
