Place Sainte Foy

Place Sainte Foy sits at a location tied to the dramatic shift in ownership that defined much of Neuilly-sur-Seine during the eighteenth century. It bears the name of a financier, Radix de Sainte-Foy, who purchased the local estate in the middle of the seventeen hundreds for one hundred thousand francs. This massive property once spanned one hundred and seventy hectares, covering the land between the current avenue du Roule and the neighboring town of Levallois-Perret. Radix de Sainte-Foy later sold this same land for a substantial profit, showcasing the rapid escalation in property values in this area even before the area became a haven for elite Parisian society.
