Square Claude Debussy features a bronze statue of the composer himself, hunched over as if caught in a moment of quiet composition. This small park sits tucked behind the tall gates of the Place de Colombia, tucked away from the busy streets of the sixteenth arrondissement. The city established this green space in nineteen thirty-six to honor the man who spent his final years living just a few steps away at the Hotel Le Marois. He died there in nineteen eighteen during the final months of the war.
