Le Lido

Le Lido sits on the Champs-Elysees beneath a marquee that glows with the name of the cabaret in bold, illuminated letters. Opened in nineteen forty-six, it occupies what was once a neoclassical swimming pool belonging to the theater. Joseph and Louis Clerico took the space, tiled over the basin, and turned it into a dinner theater where guests ate while watching dancers perform on a hydraulic stage. The pool floor still hides beneath the current stage, preserved under the modern mechanisms of the show.
