Léon Zyguel Garden

The Léon Zyguel Garden is a compact patch of green tucked between high residential walls, defined by a simple wooden gate and a metal plaque. It honors Léon Zyguel, a local man who was deported to Auschwitz as a teenager during the nineteen forties. After surviving the camps, Zyguel spent decades walking into classrooms across Paris to tell children about his experience. This garden remains a quiet, deliberate space where his life as a neighbor and a witness stays present in Belleville.
