Palais de l'Alma

The Palais de l'Alma features long rows of tall, arched windows and a mansard roof that stretches along the Quai Branly. Napoleon the Third built this complex in eighteen sixty-one to serve as stables for his horses and carriages while the nearby palace underwent renovations. It eventually transitioned into government housing for presidential staff. Princess Diana died in the tunnel passing directly beneath the building in nineteen ninety-seven, forever linking the site to that night for the thousands who visit the riverbank.
