Jardin André-Ulmann

The iron fence enclosing the Jardin André-Ulmann surrounds a plot of land that once belonged to a grand nineteenth-century estate. When the surrounding neighborhood was subdivided and developed, this small garden remained as a quiet, isolated green square tucked between apartment buildings. Its namesake, André Ulmann, was a journalist and resistance fighter during the second world war. He eventually became the director of the newspaper Franc-Tireur, keeping the memory of the French resistance alive in the local press for many years.
