Rechneigrabenweiher

The Rechneigrabenweiher is a small, rectangular pond tucked between the modern office buildings and older structures of the Innenstadt. It is the last remaining fragment of the medieval moat that once circled the city’s defensive walls. Centuries ago, this water protected the fortifications from invaders. Today, the pond is home to a colony of swans and ducks, serving as a quiet pool of water where the medieval stone foundations occasionally peek out from beneath the manicured greenery of the park.
