Albert-Mangelsdorff-Weiher

The Albert-Mangelsdorff-Weiher sits as a sunken rectangular pond tucked into the landscaped green of the Anlagenring park. Water lilies cover much of the surface during the summer months, fed by a stone-rimmed fountain at the northern end. The pool honors Albert Mangelsdorff, a Frankfurt native who spent his life playing the trombone with an unconventional, percussive style that changed modern jazz. He practiced in these gardens, keeping the sound of his horn echoing against the nearby stone walls of the city.
