Commerzbank Tower

landmark

The Commerzbank Tower rises as a triangular prism of light-colored steel and glass, currently the tallest building in Frankfurt. Completed in nineteen ninety-seven, the structure features nine winter gardens that spiral around its central core, allowing sunlight to penetrate deep into the interior offices. When architect Norman Foster designed the tower, he insisted on a high-tech environmental system that minimized energy use. A peregrine falcon once famously claimed one of the upper floors as a nesting site for several years.
