Juniorhaus

The Juniorhaus at the corner of Kaiserstrasse features a distinctive facade covered in dark green ceramic tiles that catch the light differently than the surrounding stone buildings. Built in nineteen fifty-one, the structure served as the headquarters for the Junior press, a publishing house that focused on children's literature in the post-war years. When the architect Wilhelm Berentzen designed it, he chose these tiles to create a sharp, modern contrast to the traditional masonry typical of Frankfurt’s rebuilt commercial center.
