The millions of tiny, glittering mirror shards that coat the interior walls and ceilings distinguish the Shrine of Shahecheragh from any other structure in Shiraz. This funerary monument holds the tomb of Ahmad ibn Musa, brother to the eighth Imam of Shia Islam, who died here in the ninth century. Legend says a local man noticed a constant light glowing from a grave mound, and when he excavated it, he found the body of the saintly prince, perfectly preserved, wearing a ring inscribed with his name.
